Ricki Lake is opening up about her transformative journey, marking the two-year anniversary of her facelift with unseen before-and-after photos on Instagram. The former talk show host took to the platform to reveal the details of her procedure, which she underwent in July 2024. As she shared the images, Lake wrote, "Happy 2 year anniversary to me. Yes, 2 years ago today, I had a facelift. Specifically, for those wondering, I had a deep plane lower face and neck lift along with a mild co2 laser."
"Back in 2023, I had lost 40lbs over the course of the year, and did not like the extra skin that hung from below my chin. It was never going to tighten up by itself. I took a leap of faith and I'm so grateful I did," Lake expressed.
The 57-year-old star praised her plastic surgeon, Dr. Allen Foulad, for the "remarkable, natural, and long-lasting" results. Lake's openness about her facelift reflects her broader commitment to transparency, a sentiment she echoed during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live" last year. "I'm fully transparent, always have been. I don't want there to be any stigma," she said, adding with a laugh, "I kind of think it's the best facelift I've ever seen."
Beyond her facelift, Lake has been candid about her health journey, which she embarked on with her husband, Ross Burningham, in 2023. In a 2024 Instagram post, she shared her commitment to getting healthier, writing, "On October 26th, 2023 I made a commitment to myself to get healthier. I really want to share, because we did this without relying on a pharmaceutical. (Not that there is anything wrong with that). Both of us felt like we wanted to at least try and do it on our own. I am so so proud of us. I feel amazing. I feel strong."
Lake's dedication to her well-being is evident in her achievements, showing her fans that change is possible with determination and support.
Lake's life has seen significant changes, including her decision to step away from her beloved talk show, which she hosted from 1993 to 2004. The tragic events of 9/11 reshaped her perspective, prompting her to leave the show. She shared on the "On Par with Maury Povich" podcast, "I could have done it for probably a decade longer. I made that choice. 9/11 was a huge trajectory shift in my life. Every aspect of my life changed from witnessing that experience that day from my West Village apartment."
Ricki Lake's journey is a testament to her resilience and willingness to embrace change, whether through personal transformations or life-altering decisions.
