Unexpected Revelation on the Famesick Tour

Lena Dunham recently wrapped up her Famesick book tour with a bang in Los Angeles on May 20. The Girls creator shared a delightful nugget about her relationship during a candid chat with her former castmate, Rita Wilson. Dunham revealed that her husband, Luis Felber, initially thought her claim to fame was being a curve model, not the star of a hit TV series.

A Wholesome Misunderstanding

Dunham, 40, explained to the audience how Felber's mistaken impression was actually a charming surprise. "The thing that was so amazing about meeting him, he'd never seen Girls," she said, recounting how Felber was approached via Instagram with a cheeky message asking if he could "bear to eat dinner with this person." His response? He believed Dunham was famous for being a curve model.

“He said, 'I thought you might be a curve model,'” Dunham shared, adding with a laugh, "That is the loveliest thing I've ever heard."

A Love Story Beyond Fame

Wilson humorously suggested Dunham should call Ashley Graham, a well-known plus-size model, to discuss this amusing mix-up. Dunham, ever the jokester, replied she'd give Graham a ring to see if she had any tips.

The actress also highlighted how Felber's lack of preconceived notions about her celebrity status made their connection unique. "He didn't seem to come with a lot of preconceived ideas about who I was," she noted, appreciating his genuine interest.

Building a Life Together

Dunham and Felber's love story is one for the books. They were introduced on a blind date in 2021, quickly moved in together, and tied the knot in September of the same year. "I love to talk about him because he fills me with joy," Dunham gushed about her husband, whom she describes as "an effervescently kind person."

In an April interview, Dunham shared how Felber's kindness and humor are the cherries on top of their relationship. "Lou is able to really hold people's complexity and still do everything in a way that's very anchored in love," she praised.

Embracing Her True Self

Reflecting on her own journey, Dunham expressed a newfound comfort in her skin. Despite past criticisms of her appearance, she now focuses on what her body does for her. "Occasionally, I’ll run into something in which somebody makes a comment about my weight or my appearance, and it does not affect me the same way that it used to," she stated confidently.

Her memoir, Famesick, is now available for purchase, offering fans and readers a deeper dive into her life and experiences. Dunham's story continues to inspire, reminding us all of the beauty of love and self-acceptance.
