Dawson's Creek alum Katie Holmes has officially stepped into the spotlight with her new boyfriend, Jason Bard Yarmosky. The 47-year-old actress, who captured hearts in the 1990s teen drama, made a glamorous appearance over the weekend in New York, cozying up to Yarmosky at a Ferragamo fashion event in the Hamptons.
For this stylish outing, Holmes dazzled in a chic tasselled skirt paired with a loose-fitting shirt and sleek black heels. Her beau, Yarmosky, complemented her look with navy blue trousers and a matching sweatshirt, creating a picture-perfect moment for the cameras.
"He was whispering in her ear, and she was laughing, they seemed very easy together and there was a smile on her face all night," an onlooker told People. "They sat together during the movie, she had her head on his shoulder at one point. They looked very cute."
Holmes, who was famously married to Hollywood icon Tom Cruise from 2006 to 2012, has kept her private life relatively low-key post-divorce. The former couple shares a 20-year-old daughter, Suri Noelle. While Cruise has been linked to stars like Hayley Atwell and Shakira, Katie's romantic pursuits have been more discreet.
Rumors in 2016 suggested Holmes had a five-year restriction from publicly dating after her split from Cruise. Despite this, she reportedly had a secret romance with actor Jamie Foxx. A source revealed to Radar Online that Holmes was allowed to date but was restricted from public displays and from introducing any partner to her daughter.
Despite the public interest in her relationships, Holmes has managed to shield her family life from the media glare. In a candid moment, she shared her thoughts on her daughter Suri's transition to higher education. "I'm proud of my daughter," Holmes expressed to Town & Country magazine. "Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy."
Reflecting on her own youth, Holmes added, "I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that." Her light-hearted comment about her book club hinted at her plans to stay connected: "The members of my book club are going to get annoyed hearing from me," she laughed. "I’ll be like, 'Let’s meet once a week.'"
