Spencer Pratt's dream of leading Los Angeles has come to a halt. On June 7, the buzz was all about Los Angeles City Council member Nithya Raman leapfrogging over Pratt in the race, securing her spot in the November runoff election against incumbent Karen Bass. This development meant that The Hills alum was officially out of the running.
Pratt, who announced his candidacy in January 2026, was motivated by personal tragedy and a desire for change. Reflecting on the wildfires that ravaged his Pacific Palisades home, he declared, "The system in Los Angeles isn’t struggling; it’s fundamentally broken." He vowed to expose the city's issues, promising a mission rather than just a campaign.
As the news of Pratt's political exit spread, celebrities were quick to share their reactions. Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel didn't miss a beat, jokingly offering Pratt a U-Haul to help him move, referencing Pratt's previous vow to leave L.A. if he lost. "Moving is expensive, so, to help you out, we rented you a U-Haul," Kimmel quipped on his show.

On the other hand, Meghan McCain wasn't amused by Kimmel's humor, calling him "heartless" for his comments. Meanwhile, Dean Cain praised Pratt for shaking up the race, suggesting that even in defeat, Pratt had made an impact.
The online world was buzzing with opinions. Vanderpump Rules' Katie Maloney dismissed conspiracy theories about the election being "stolen" from Pratt, while actor Wilson Cruz humorously questioned Pratt's continued presence in L.A.
Pratt himself cheekily responded to the election results by asking, "Are they done counting yet?" His statement highlighted the drawn-out vote-counting process, but also seemed to acknowledge the finality of his campaign's end. Despite the mixed reactions, Pratt's brief foray into politics has certainly left a mark.
