Denise Richards, the stunning star of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," has taken a bold step in her ongoing divorce saga with Aaron Phypers. On June 26, she filed a request with a Los Angeles court to keep her salary from the show confidential. This move is all about protecting her financial privacy during the messy split.
Richards, 55, is determined to prevent her estranged husband, Phypers, 53, from revealing her income details. Her request for a protective order argues that sharing this information would violate existing nondisclosure agreements and could harm her relationships with production companies and fellow cast members.
“Publicizing my income would negatively impact my relationship with production companies, as well as other cast members,” Richards stated in court documents.
The divorce between Richards and Phypers has become a tabloid sensation. After six years of marriage, Phypers filed for divorce in early July, citing "irreconcilable differences." But the plot thickened when Richards accused him of physical and emotional abuse, prompting her to seek a temporary restraining order.
In her legal filing, Richards alleged that Phypers threatened her life and owned multiple unregistered guns. She provided photographic evidence, including an image of herself with a black eye, claiming it was a result of his abuse. Her testimony in court led to a five-year restraining order against Phypers.
Amid the storm of allegations, Aaron Phypers has firmly denied any wrongdoing. In a statement to People and Us Weekly on July 17, he called the abuse claims "completely false and deeply hurtful," insisting he never harmed Richards or anyone else.
"Let me be unequivocally clear: I have never physically or emotionally abused Denise—or anyone," Phypers asserted. He described their marriage as challenging but maintained he approached it with love and respect.
This ongoing legal battle is sure to keep the spotlight on Richards and Phypers as they navigate this tumultuous chapter of their lives.
