Ariana's Blast from the Past

Looks like Ariana Grande might be taking a stroll down memory lane! The pop star was recently spotted dining with her ex, Ricky Alvarez, in Austin. This unexpected reunion comes months after her reported split from Wicked co-star Ethan Slater. The pair, who shared a year-long romance back in 2015, were seen enjoying lunch last week while Grande was in town for her Eternal Sunshine tour. According to a source from People, "They’ve been hanging out recently," hinting at a possible rekindling of friendship or maybe more.

“They’ve been hanging out recently,” a source told People, adding that they stayed friends after parting ways in 2016.

Lyrics Say It All?

While nothing official has been confirmed about a romantic revival, Ariana has been playfully tweaking lyrics about Alvarez in her 2019 hit "Thank U, Next." Originally referencing Alvarez with “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh,” she recently switched it up during her Austin performance to, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now they still kinda slap.” And on her birthday, no less, she sang, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / I know he’s still got my back.” Concert footage even caught Alvarez in the VIP section, nodding along and sharing a celebratory handshake with a friend.

Are Sparks Flying Again?

It's too soon to claim that Ariana and Ricky are officially back together, but the lyrical changes and public appearances are certainly raising eyebrows. Whether this is just a friendly reunion or the start of something more, fans are sure to keep a close watch on these two. After all, who hasn't wondered "Welp, why not?" when it comes to revisiting past relationships? Stay tuned for more juicy updates on this potential rekindling!
