Victoria and David Beckham have long been the subject of public fascination. This iconic duo is known for their glamorous love story, but it hasn't always been smooth sailing. Over two decades ago, whispers of an alleged affair nearly tore them apart.
Back in 2004, the tabloids were ablaze when Rebecca Loos, David’s former personal assistant, claimed she had a four-month affair with him. This explosive claim came shortly after David's high-profile move from Manchester United to Real Madrid. Despite the passage of time, Loos has never wavered in her story, even discussing it in a 2025 interview with 60 Minutes Australia.
In a recent chat on the podcast Call Her Daddy, Victoria addressed the speculation surrounding her marriage, choosing her words carefully. "We’ve had so much thrown at us, and we were talking about it because we’ve recently celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary," she shared. "And by the way, people said it wouldn’t work… 26 years!"
"We’ve had so much thrown at us and we’ve always just been there together and just ridden the damn storm," Victoria emphasized.
The media frenzy was relentless, with paparazzi tracking Victoria's every move, especially during her travels between the U.K. and Madrid with her children, Brooklyn and Romeo. The alleged affair became a defining celebrity scandal of the 2000s, casting a shadow over the "Posh and Becks" era.
Victoria candidly admitted in Netflix’s 2023 Beckham documentary that their marriage was on the brink of collapse. "It was the hardest period of our lives," she confessed. "Because it felt like the world was against us. Here’s the thing – we were against each other, if I’m being completely honest."
David echoed her sentiments, revealing, "There were some horrible stories that were difficult to deal with. It was the first time that Victoria and I had been put under that kind of pressure in our marriage."
Fast forward to 2025, and the scandal resurfaced when Loos appeared in a documentary, calling her actions "brave." "I have stuck to the truth. I’ve never exaggerated. I never lied about a single thing," Loos asserted, standing by her story.
Despite the storm, it's clear that the Beckhams have weathered it together, emerging stronger than ever.
