Tori Spelling, the beloved "Beverly Hills, 90210" star, is no stranger to the harsh glare of the public eye. At 52, she's opening up about the relentless online speculation surrounding her appearance. During a candid chat on her "MisSpelling" podcast on March 9, she tackled the rumors head-on, revealing the toll they have taken on her. Spelling, who will turn 53 in May, shared with her guest, plastic surgeon Dr. Terry Dubrow, "I'm 52. I'll be 53 in May, and I purposely go the other way because … every photo I put up, people say, 'Stop with the filler.' I'm like, 'I'm not!'"
The actress, who shot to fame as Donna Martin, revealed that public scrutiny of her looks began at the tender age of 17. Back then, tabloids speculated about various cosmetic procedures she supposedly underwent, including cheek implants and a "new chin." Spelling addressed these rumors on her podcast, stating, "They were like, 'She's had all this plastic surgery,' so they did something like that to a 17-year-old. I had my nose done at the time. That was it. ... It crushed my soul. I never unsaw that, I never unheard it."
Despite her father's reassurances, Spelling admits that the scrutiny has only intensified in the age of social media. "People think, 'Celebrities don't have a heart. They don't care,'" she said. "I know it hurts me to hear it, still to this day. When I see something on Instagram, my heart immediately plummets. Of course [celebrities care]. We're all human." Describing the online body scrutiny as "horrific," Spelling also considered the idea of embracing plastic surgery due to persistent rumors. She shared her past use of dermal fillers and current Botox regimen, adding, "I guess at this point, I should ... just have my whole face done because they already say I've had it done. So, it's like, I can't win."
