The 2026 Grammy Awards are lighting up the night as we speak, with celebs like Bad Bunny, Justin and Hailey Bieber, and Lady Gaga gracing the red carpet. Yet, there's a buzz around who's not attending this year's ceremony. Despite the glamour and the glitz, a surprising number of A-listers have decided to give the event a pass.
Among them, Gracie Abrams, who despite her previous nominations in 2024 and 2025, didn't score a nod this year for her hit "That's So True." Meanwhile, Role Model, whose catchy track "Sally, When the Wine Runs Out" made waves, also got snubbed, explaining his absence.
“I have a movie shoot, so I can’t be there,” shared Lisa of Blackpink, highlighting her commitment to her film project in South Korea.
The Weeknd, with four Grammys under his belt, is another notable absentee. His latest album, "Hurry Up Tomorrow," and his collaboration "Timeless" with Playboi Carti didn't receive any Grammy attention. Lorde also decided to sit this one out after her album "Virgin" didn't make the cut.
Beyoncé, who celebrated a win last year with "Cowboy Carter," missed this year's eligibility period and chose to skip the event. Taylor Swift, caught up in wedding planning, was predictably absent as well.
Margaret Qualley, despite her husband Jack Antonoff's presence, didn't make it to the red carpet. Ariana Grande, though a winner for "Defying Gravity" with Cynthia Erivo, was a no-show. Cynthia herself missed the ceremony due to her commitments at the London Critics' Circle Theatre Awards and her starring role in "Dracula" on London's West End.
Timothée Chalamet, although nominated for "A Complete Unknown," chose to attend a Q&A in the UK. His absence meant Kylie Jenner was also missing in action. And let's not forget Halsey, whose "The Great Impersonator" was released outside the eligibility period, thus skipping the event.
