Just when you thought Teyana Taylor couldn't possibly add more to her plate, she's proving us all wrong! The multi-talented actor, director, model, and musician is now diving into the world of culinary arts. Since July, Taylor has been attending culinary school – a milestone she celebrated with her fans through a video on Instagram. Recently, she spilled the beans about her cooking journey to Oscar Isaac in Variety's 'Actors on Actors' series.
During their chat, Taylor's quest to become a chef came up, and Isaac couldn't help but wonder how she finds the time. "It's actually the thing that gives me a few moments to just be quiet and cook," she shared, explaining how cooking keeps her grounded. "It's an art." Clearly, Taylor sees this new pursuit as more than just cooking – it's a creative outlet.
But don't think she's just perfecting recipes for homemade pizza. Taylor says her culinary school experience, combined with skills from working with director Paul Thomas Anderson on 'One Battle After Another', has prepped her for her own directorial debut. "Culinary school and working with PTA really geared me up. I feel like I'm going to be a great director," she enthused. "It might sound weird, like, All this from learning how to make a steak?" Indeed, where does she find the time?
“I think you’re the coolest person I’ve ever met in my life,” Isaac gushed, praising her energy and talent. “Someone cast her in the next season of 'The Bear', please.”
With her boundless energy and passion, Teyana Taylor is not just cooking up delicious dishes but also a promising future in filmmaking. Watch out world – this is one chef-in-training with ambitions that are as vast as her talents!
