Tel Aviv Rolls Out the Red Carpet

Israel turned up the glitz and glam for the early premiere of the eagerly awaited 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' at Lev Cinema in Tel Aviv. On April 28, just days before its U.S. debut, Israeli celebrities and fashionistas came together to celebrate this cinematic spectacle. With the Iran-Israel war recently concluded, the timing seemed perfect for this star-studded event.

The world premiere had already taken place on April 20 at Lincoln Center, New York City, but Tel Aviv was not to be outdone. "The bigger films are now releasing in Israel and the US simultaneously… you know, everything is global and this is not a film we would hold off from our audience," Ilana Nozik, general manager for Forum Film, enthused. "I’m super excited. I’m trembling."

Fashion and Glamour Take Center Stage

The premiere was more than just a film showing – it was a fashion extravaganza. Attendees were treated to themed cocktails and a multi-floor step-and-repeat, capturing the essence of the film's iconic branding with bold red accents. The style stakes were high, with guests donning everything from classic black-and-white ensembles to daring silhouettes, making the event a true celebration of international culture.

Famed personalities in attendance included actress Hana Laszlo, socialite Irit Rahamim, and fashion influencer Emily Kuper. Israeli folk singer Einat Sarouf also graced the event, bringing her granddaughter along for the ride. Sarouf shared her excitement, "It’s like I’m in a dream. We know that in a minute it can stop again. I know that. Everybody knows that."

“Yesterday I was in Eilat, I sang for 1,000 people – a show that was meant to be last month when there was war,” Sarouf explained. “I love that they are doing this. They insist on doing cultural things.”

A Sequel to Remember

' 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' reunites the powerhouse cast of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt, alongside Stanley Tucci as the creative Nigel. This sequel dives into the evolving world of fashion, where digital media reigns supreme. As the lights dimmed at Lev Cinema, the audience was spellbound by the opening scenes, ready to dive back into the beloved story.

Laughter and nostalgia filled the air as viewers enjoyed the antics and fashion on screen. Israelis had the unique privilege of experiencing this cinematic journey first, leaving the theater in high spirits, eager to talk about the film's impact and style.

And this time, the Israeli audience is ahead of the game, savoring every stylish moment before the rest of the world catches up.
