Teddy Swims, the soulful singer with a heart of gold, recently opened up about who he’d trust to babysit his 8-month-old son with partner Raiche Wright. During a candid chat on Live from E!: Grammys, Teddy was faced with a tough choice between three of his celebrity pals: Kelly Clarkson, Meghan Trainor, and country star Thomas Rhett.
Teddy had to make a tough call when it came to his "Somethin’ ‘Bout a Woman" duet partner, Thomas Rhett. Despite their friendship, Teddy decided to rule Thomas out as a babysitter for a surprisingly practical reason. "Thomas has already got his hands full," Teddy noted, referring to Thomas's growing family of four daughters and another baby on the way. "He’s a girl dad. So I have to take Thomas Rhett out."
In a heartfelt moment, Teddy crowned Meghan Trainor as his top choice. Meghan, along with her husband Daryl Sabara, has just welcomed their third child, daughter Mikey Moon Trainor. Teddy had nothing but praise for Meghan, saying, "That is the best mother in the world right there. Meghan Trainor has just got it, man. She’s such a wonderful mother and they’re just wonderful people."
Besides his babysitting revelations, Teddy also shared his experience performing "Without You" at the MusiCares Person of the Year tribute to Mariah Carey. He confessed to the crowd, "That was definitely a little terrifying." Performing in front of the legendary Mariah Carey was no small feat for Teddy. He humorously admitted, “I just put my sunglasses on and held my eyes closed. [Mariah’s] so close to looking at you while you’re actually butchering her song.” For Teddy, the experience was both horrifying and humbling.
Teddy Swims continues to charm his fans not just with his music but with his candid and relatable personality. Whether it’s choosing a babysitter or taking on a nerve-wracking performance, Teddy remains refreshingly honest and genuine.
