Su Jin's Dazzling Journey: From Newsroom to Runway

Meet Su Jin Kim, the Korean-Filipina sensation who's taking the entertainment industry by storm. With a unique flair for juggling multiple roles, Su Jin is a force to be reckoned with. From modeling and TV commercials to hosting gigs, she's proving that versatility is key in today's fast-paced scene. Just last February, at the Couture Studio's anniversary bash in BGC, she opened up about her ambitious plans for 2026.

Embracing Change: From Journalism to Glamour

Su Jin's career is a testament to bold reinvention. After two years as a reporter, she decided to take a leap of faith. "I started working as a reporter for two years, and then after that, I resigned last year, around September," she shared. "I hope to have more hosting and moderating jobs. Because I really specialize in business news and related topics. But I'm open to trying more lifestyle roles. Just being more adventurous with the projects that I take," Su Jin said.

"Super different. Because reporting is very straightforward. And very straight to the facts. It's also very serious. And when you host events, it's super different. I have to be more metaphorical, more descriptive in the sense that it's more flowery than what I'm used to. Which I feel is a big transition for me. But I'm still learning," she said.

A New Chapter with Aces & Queens

Su Jin's passion for the craft led her to a new venture – pageantry. Guided by the renowned Aces & Queens, she's diving into this world with determination. "Aces and Queens, the ones who are training me, have been telling me or encouraging me to join Binibining Pilipinas. But for me, it's not in my cards yet because I don't have the financial resources to do pageants yet," Su Jin revealed.

Training is no cakewalk. "I wouldn’t be surprised if their lineup turns out to be exceptional because our training is incredibly rigorous. We train twice a week, with full-day sessions on weekends. Just this past weekend, we had a 9-to-6 training, plus additional Pasarela and Q&A sessions. They really make sure to cover every aspect," she added.

Expanding Horizons: Vlogging and Collaboration Dreams

Modeling is just a piece of Su Jin's multifaceted career. She's branching out into vlogging and content creation, aiming to captivate an even wider audience. When asked about her dream collaboration, she confidently named "Kapamilya actor Donny Pangilinan."

Lessons from the Industry

Reflecting on her journey, Su Jin shared insights from her time with Farah Models and how it shaped her resilience. "Five years with Farah. I guess the biggest lesson is to really be open to years when you don't have a job, and not to give up. Even if there are periods of lull, because there are times when you don't really get the job, and the opportunities are quite sparse, but it doesn't mean that there are no opportunities."

Su Jin believes in passing the torch. "And it's really to work hard in the sense, because I've been doing Farah Models camp for I think, three years already. So I think it's more about keeping, or passing the crown to the younger kids, to the new faces, because for me it's more, it's more about being generous with opportunities, so it all comes back to you, too," she said.
