A TikTok video by Monique and Alfredo, known as @dr.a1andmonique, has stirred the pot by highlighting Spielberg's use of a private jet. Their post showcases jet-tracking data, revealing that Spielberg's luxurious BBJ (Boeing Business Jet) made a whirlwind journey from France to North Dakota, and then to California, all in a single day.

“Steven Spielberg's BBJ flew from France to Fargo, North Dakota,” the TikTokers stated, showing flight data. “Then from Fargo to Los Angeles all on 2025-09-04.”
The TikTokers went on to estimate that Spielberg's jet-setting cost a whopping $61,502 in fuel alone, sparking a heated debate online.
Spielberg's use of private jets has long been a talking point, ranking him among the top celebrities indulging in such luxury, as noted by Newsweek. However, this recent revelation feels particularly jarring given Spielberg's previous statements on climate change. Back in 2018, he expressed his concerns, saying, "I'm terrified of global warming. Global warming is a scientific reality. It's not a political trick. It's a true piece of real, measurable, quantifiable science."
This apparent contradiction between Spielberg's words and actions hasn't gone unnoticed. Social media users were quick to voice their opinions, with one commenting, "Yet he will lecture all of us to not drive and use public transport because we harm the environment, while he flies private everywhere." Another added, "Do as I say, not as I do."
The environmental toll of private jets has been a hot topic, with organizations like Oxfam pointing out their outsized carbon footprint. "Private jets burn far more carbon per passenger than commercial flights," Oxfam stated, explaining that a private jet trip from London to Paris is six times more polluting per passenger than a commercial flight.
Spielberg isn't alone in facing criticism for high-flying habits. Celebrities like Paris Hilton, Kid Rock, and Prince Harry have all been called out for similar reasons. As public awareness grows, the conversation around celebrity lifestyles and their environmental impact continues to evolve.
