A Night to Remember

It was that magical time of year once again when celebrities, friends, and families came together for the annual Winter Wonderland Gala Ball. This year, however, one beloved face was notably absent – the charismatic Julian Benson. Julian, the passionate founder of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Ireland, passed away in April after a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis. His tireless work and dedication to the charity have left a lasting impact on many lives.

Glamour and Gratitude

The event, held at the Clayton Hotel in Ballsbridge, attracted over 400 attendees all dressed to the nines, celebrating a man who was a beacon of hope and friendship to everyone he met. The effervescent Miriam O'Callaghan, stunning in a soft baby pink gown, took the stage to host the evening. Entertainment was aplenty with performances by singer Sophia Reade, the talented Angeline Ball, and the vibrant Reel Irish Dance Entertainment.

“I know in the last three months he was very, very sick, but he drove it on, it was his energy... that energy needs to be replicated, someone needs to carry that on because Julian did a mammoth task getting Tranquillity House built.”

Julian's Dream Lives On

Julian's ambition to create Ireland's first 'home away from home' for cystic fibrosis patients and their families has finally come to fruition. This weekend, the home will host its first family, fulfilling a dream that Julian was determined to achieve. The house was featured on RTÉ's Room to Improve, with presenter Dermot Bannon sharing his thoughts on the episode that moved many viewers.

Dermot described the renovation as a 'mammoth task,' but nothing could deter Julian from his mission. His energy and determination were infectious, ensuring that Tranquillity House became a reality.

Star-Studded Support

The Winter Wonderland Ball was graced by numerous celebrities paying tribute to Julian. Glamorous figures like Claudine Keane, Rosanna Davison, and Kevin Dundon were among the attendees. Their presence was a testament to Julian's influence and the love he inspired in everyone around him.
