Spencer Pratt Takes a Stand Against Celebrity Endorsements

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt is making headlines with his unconventional campaign approach. In a recent appearance on "Gutfeld!", Pratt boldly declared that he isn't interested in celebrity endorsements. Instead, he's looking for the backing of everyday Angelenos, particularly moms and animal lovers.

Pratt has made it clear that he doesn’t mind when celebrities criticize him, taking it as a sign that he's on the right track. His campaign has already outpaced those of incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and challenger Nithya Raman in terms of fundraising, with millions of dollars raised so far.

“I love when celebrities attack me. It means I’m doing something right,” Pratt quipped during his interview.

Private Support from Hollywood Heavyweights?

While Pratt claims to have private endorsements from Hollywood stars like Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx, these have yet to be publicly confirmed. However, he does have public support from celebrities such as Dennis Quaid, Paris Hilton, and Jeanie Buss.

Despite these star-studded connections, Pratt insists that his campaign isn't about Hollywood glamour. Instead, he emphasizes his grassroots support, which he believes is stronger than any celebrity backing.

Polls and Political Strategy

Polls from a UC Berkeley-Los Angeles Times survey show a tight race, with Bass leading at 26% of likely voters, Raman closely behind at 25%, and Pratt at 22%. As a Republican, Pratt has gained attention through his viral ads that take aim at his opponents and criticize the current city administration's handling of critical issues like fires and homelessness.

Since launching his campaign in January, Pratt has been vocal about his desire to unseat Bass, whom he accuses of leadership failures, especially in response to recent wildfires and the city's ongoing homelessness crisis. He advocates for a treatment-focused approach to drug addiction, hoping to bring change to these pressing issues.

With the LA mayoral primary set for June 2, Pratt's campaign strategy continues to defy expectations as he rallies support from the heart of the city.
