Sofía Vergara is no stranger to the spotlight, but her unexpected appearance on the Grammy stage alongside Pitbull was a moment to remember. The Colombian actress recently shared the delightful story of how she ended up in a taxi cab costume, dancing next to the music star at the Grammys. During an appearance on the "Jennifer Hudson Show," she opened up about her spontaneous decision, spurred by her friendship with Pitbull.
“I had no business doing anything there, but he had sung at my wedding, and we became friends," Vergara laughed as she recounted the tale.
Vergara and Pitbull's friendship blossomed after he performed at her wedding to Joe Manganiello. When Pitbull asked her to join him on stage for his Grammy performance, she couldn't resist the fun opportunity. "Who's gonna get stage fright from being in a costume and dancing? I didn't have to learn lines or anything," she joked.
Beyond her on-stage antics, Vergara is also making waves with her business partner, Octavia Spencer. The two powerhouse actresses have teamed up for "Detect the SOS," a health initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of uACR screenings for those with high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.
Spencer, who has type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, spoke candidly about her personal connection to the cause. Vergara, too, shared how these silent health issues have affected her family, expressing a sense of urgency for people to take the simple, non-invasive test. "It's very scary. It's silent and can be causing damage, and you don't know," she emphasized.
Together, Vergara and Spencer are on a mission to encourage others to prioritize their health, all while sharing laughter and friendship on and off the stage.
