Sarah Michelle Gellar's '90s Style Confessions

Sarah Michelle Gellar, the iconic star whose career skyrocketed in the '90s, has some strong opinions about the era's fashion trends. Known for her roles in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "I Know What You Did Last Summer," and "Cruel Intentions," Gellar was a definitive '90s It-girl. But now, she's spilling the tea on which trends she thinks should stay in the past and which ones are timeless.

While chatting with Glamour about her Olay Regenerist campaign, Gellar couldn't help but chuckle at the "Mom, what were you like in the ’90s?" trend taking over TikTok and Instagram. Although she stands by the decade as "cool AF," she admits there are certain trends she could do without.

“I don’t want overtweezed eyebrows back,” Gellar confessed. “We all look better with an eyebrow.”

The Trends Gellar Wants to Forget

First on Gellar's list of trends to leave behind is the infamous thin eyebrow look. Many women in the '90s plucked their eyebrows into oblivion, only to find out later that they might never fully grow back. It's a beauty blunder Gellar isn't keen on revisiting.

Another trend she's not a fan of is the choker necklace. Despite its recent comeback, Gellar quipped that chokers tend to "cut your neck off" and make you look like "a weird bobblehead." For her, chokers are a fashion no-go.

A Timeless '90s Love

But it's not all bad news for '90s fashion in Gellar's book. She can't get enough of slip dresses, a staple that was revived thanks to "Love Story." Gellar never parted ways with this minimalist look, proving that some trends are indeed timeless.

"Thank God for Love Story bringing back slip dresses," she shared. "I never stopped wearing them."

Slip dresses have indeed stood the test of time, continuing to be a versatile piece in many wardrobes. Their simple, elegant silhouette makes them a classic that can be styled in countless ways. So, while some '90s trends might be best left in the past, others are here to stay – at least in Sarah Michelle Gellar's closet.
