Salma Hayek's Ageless Hair Secret

Legendary actress Salma Hayek Pinault, who became a household name in the '90s, has recently revealed her secret to maintaining her luscious, dark locks. At 58, Hayek is not immune to the pesky gray hairs that come with age, but she has found a surprisingly simple and cost-effective solution that doesn’t involve constant trips to the salon.

During a candid session for Vogue’s “Beauty Secrets” series, the House of Gucci star unveiled her go-to product for concealing those silver strands: mascara. Yes, you read that right – mascara! "I do not dye my hair," Hayek shared in June. "If you choose not to dye your hair and you have the white [hairs] like I do… I use mascara."

“We don’t gatekeep hair tips here.”

The $29 Miracle Product

The product that Hayek swears by is the Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara, which retails for just $29. It's an inexpensive alternative to the pricey hair dyes that can rack up hundreds of dollars in salon bills.

Hayek first let fans in on this nifty trick through Instagram in 2024, emphasizing her willingness to share beauty secrets. While mascara is her personal favorite, her hairstylist, Miguel Martin Perez, suggests L’Oréal’s Magic Root Cover Up for those quick touch-ups.

Rumor has it that Hayek might have even employed this trick during her glamorous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover shoot for the 2025 edition.

Embracing New Challenges at 58

In the sensational cover photoshoot, Salma dazzled in a green sparkly bikini, confidently posing in a shallow pool in Mexico. Despite her radiant appearance, Hayek confessed to the TODAY show in May that she had initial doubts about featuring on the cover.

“It never crossed my mind that I could be on that cover," she admitted. "Because (the women) didn’t look like me. My body isn’t necessarily the model type. I never thought that was a possibility – and for it to happen when I’m 58! It’s really shocking.”

However, any apprehensions vanished when she hit the set. "My generation, especially Mexican women, we thought we were going to be dismissed at 35," Hayek reflected. "I got so excited and I felt really free. I put Bad Bunny on and started dancing – I loved it."

Joining her in the issue were fellow cover stars such as Olympian Jordan Chiles, influencer Olivia Dunne, and model Lauren Chan, making it a memorable edition.
