Peter Andre's Heartfelt Update on Emily's Health Journey

Peter Andre has opened up about his wife Emily's recent health scare, sharing insights into her battle with shingles. The "Mysterious Girl" singer, 53, is married to NHS doctor Emily, 36, with whom he shares children Millie, 12, Theo, nine, and 23-month-old Belle. He also has two older children, Junior, 20, and Princess, 18, with his ex-wife, Katie Price.

Last week, Emily, who is not only a respected doctor but also a familiar face on TV shows like Lorraine, revealed her diagnosis. Shingles, typically linked to older age, caught her by surprise. Emily, however, embraced the opportunity to educate her followers about the virus, which is the same one responsible for chicken pox.

“It was great Emily spoke out about her shingles diagnosis – she wants to help others and make them understand it from a medical point-of-view,” Peter wrote in his new! magazine column, expressing relief that Emily is "through the worst" now.

Emily's Brave Disclosure

Emily took to Instagram to share her experience, aiming to spread awareness about shingles. "Hi everyone, I wanted to share something a bit personal, but also hopefully helpful," she began, addressing her 750,000 followers.

She explained the symptoms she faced: "Basically what's happened is I've been diagnosed with shingles. So as a doctor I thought this was a good opportunity to do a bit of education around what shingles is." Noting that shingles is often associated with older individuals, Emily highlighted that it can strike at any age.

A Personal and Educational Experience

In a candid video, Emily detailed her symptoms, describing the initial pain and tingling sensations under her arm, followed by a rash on her back. "It is typically just on one side of the body," she clarified, emphasizing the importance of awareness and medical consultation.

Her message was clear: listen to your body. In her caption, Emily urged followers to seek medical advice if uncertain, directing them to the NHS website for more information. "Let’s just say… not exactly how I planned to spend the week, but a good reminder to listen to your body and get things checked if something doesn’t feel right," she concluded.
