After a year spent "in my shell," Nicole Kidman is stepping into 2026 with a renewed focus on family and positivity. Months after initiating divorce proceedings against Keith Urban, her husband of 19 years, Kidman is embracing a forward-looking attitude. In a candid interview with Variety published on March 11, Kidman revealed, "I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good."
Kidman emphasized the importance of family in her life, especially focusing on her daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. "What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That's that," she shared, underscoring her commitment to maintaining familial bonds despite the separation. The divorce, finalized in January, outlined a parenting plan granting Kidman primary custody of their teenage daughters. According to the decree, the girls will spend the bulk of the year with their mother, while Urban shares weekends and holidays.
“My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”
While Kidman is known for her illustrious acting career, she’s prioritizing her daughters' needs over professional ambitions for now. "There are still things I want to do as an actor," she admitted, expressing interest in returning to theater. However, with both daughters in high school, Kidman feels it's "not the time" to pursue these goals. Instead, she's focusing on "kid stuff" this summer and plans to remain in Nashville, a city she and Urban have called home for nearly two decades.
Despite the personal changes, Kidman is committed to staying in the Nashville area. "We have our life here. I’m part of the city and community for 20 years. It’s my home," she stated, highlighting her deep connection to the area and her intention to remain a part of the community.
