Mel C's Intimate Wedding Surprise

Sporty Spice has officially tied the knot! Earlier this month, Melanie Chisholm, fondly known as Mel C, took a flight to Sydney, Australia, to marry actor Chris Dingwall in a cozy and private ceremony. But the real surprise? Her wedding dress had a touch of 'something borrowed' with a chic twist.

For the intimate nuptials, Mel C donned a stunning white lace slip that came straight from the wardrobe of none other than Victoria Beckham. The former Spice Girls bandmate shared that she planned to wear one of Victoria's own designs but faced a last-minute fitting issue. "I happened to have that exact dress in my own wardrobe and offered to lend it to her," Victoria revealed.

“Victoria’s dress was my something borrowed,” Mel C added. “It was very special, having her there.”

A Unique Touch for the Big Celebration

Victoria Beckham didn't just stop at lending a dress. For Mel C's larger celebration on July 18 in Cumbria, England, she crafted a bespoke gown that was a true masterpiece. Transforming the borrowed lace cami into a "more personal" wedding dress, Victoria used delicately dyed floral Lyon lace, hand-stitched onto a satin slip. The design boasted a V neckline, open back, and a subtle train.

Adding a personal touch, Mel C’s 17-year-old daughter, Scarlett Starr, suggested a longer train for added drama. "She wanted a bit more drama in the length," Mel C shared, highlighting her daughter's influence on the final design.

A Celebration of Simple Elegance

Mel C and Chris Dingwall, who first crossed paths three years ago on the dating app Raya, kept their second wedding celebration delightfully simple. With a timeless summer bash at a friend's lakeside property, the couple celebrated their love surrounded by close friends and family.

The stylish affair was marked by elegance and heartfelt moments, proving once again that sometimes, all you need is love – and a little help from your friends.
