Machine Gun Kelly, or mgk, recently opened up about the intense physical journey that accompanied his latest tattoo transformation. In a candid chat with Billboard Canada, mgk shared how he reinvented his body and sound in just two months, opting for dramatic blackout tattoos on his arms and torso. The tattoos, designed by renowned artist ROXX, were meant to be a two-year project squeezed into just eight weeks.

“The same way I was reinventing my sound, I wanted to reinvent my body,” MGK explained, diving into the artistic process.

Unexpected Side Effects: The Price of Art

While the tattoos themselves were a work of art, the process was not without its challenges. MGK experienced severe side effects, including sickness and limited mobility, when his tattooing sessions affected his lymph nodes. "After the first week, we hit my lymph nodes around my armpits and shoulders, and I got really sick," he recounted. "My skin was turning yellow. I wasn’t able to sleep. I stopped being able to move certain parts of my upper body."

Yet, despite the physical toll, mgk emerged from the ordeal feeling invigorated and inspired. "I came out the other side extremely inspired," he reflected, acknowledging the personal growth that accompanied his pain.

Back to Roots: Hip Hop Revival

Not one to shy away from challenges, Machine Gun Kelly returned to his musical roots, releasing a mixtape with Wiz Khalifa titled "Blog Era Boyz." This project, a nod to the early 2000s and 2010s, has been a nostalgic journey for both artists and has taken them across the country on tour. MGK continues to push creative boundaries, both in his music and his personal life.

A Special Dedication: Ink for His Daughter

Earlier this year, MGK added a heartfelt piece to his collection – a tattoo for his daughter, Saga. In a video shared with fans, he proudly showcased the new ink on his hand, symbolizing his love and dedication as a father. MGK and Megan Fox welcomed their daughter last year, and he frequently shares glimpses of their family life, including adorable moments with Saga.
