Kim Kardashian isn't holding back when it comes to defending her daughter North West's creative expression. The reality star took to social media on Saturday, October 25, to address critics questioning her 12-year-old's choice to sport fake piercings and tattoos. "This is such a non-issue," Kardashian, 45, declared, clapping back at the naysayers on the TikTok account she shares with North.
Earlier in the week, North unveiled a striking new look in a TikTok video that quickly went viral, racking up nearly 5 million views and 180,000 "likes." Sporting a star tattoo under her eye, her name in cursive on her cheek, a faux septum piercing, and braided blue highlights, North made quite the statement. She even added henna symbols on her hand and a black grill over her teeth.
“Fake piercings and fake tatts 4 life,” North wrote, making it clear that her bold accessories were all temporary.
Despite North's clarification, some viewers were shocked by her style, prompting comments like "She's TWELVE??" However, many rushed to her defense, with one user questioning, "None of you tried fake tattoos as kids??"
This isn't North's first foray into faux piercings. Back in 2019, Kim shared photos of North with a fake nose ring at a family celebration. The mother-daughter duo is known for occasionally rocking matching faux piercings at events.
During a recent podcast appearance, Kim revealed that she encourages North's fashion explorations. “I'm like, ‘Babe, if you want blue hair, it is what it is,’” Kim shared with a laugh. She emphasized that North's happiness and creativity are her top priorities, noting, "It makes her so happy. I would never take that creative away from her."
Kim describes North as having a strong sense of style, often dressing like a tomboy. North confidently brushes off criticism, telling her mom, "I probably wouldn't be hanging out with those people" if they don't appreciate her unique style.
In other news, Kim has been candid about her health and career ambitions. She recently disclosed on The Kardashians that she was diagnosed with a minor aneurysm, likely due to stress. Despite this, Kim remains busy and ambitious, sharing on The Graham Norton Show her plans to soon become a qualified lawyer, having started her law studies in 2019. "Maybe in 10 years, I think I’ll give up being Kim K. and be a trial lawyer," she mused.
