Kelly Ripa's Candid Confession

Kelly Ripa, the effervescent co-host of "Live With Kelly and Mark," had a jaw-dropping confession to make on her recent podcast episode of "Let's Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa." During a chat with "Euphoria" actor Lukas Gage, Ripa, 55, revealed a beauty procedure she recently tried, and it's not what you might expect.

As Gage shared his post-microneedling glow from an appointment in Los Angeles, Ripa chimed in with a surprising admission: "I did that on my ass cheeks." When asked how it looked, she humorously retorted, "Just as old as before," adding, "Desperate times call for desperate measures."

"Desperate times call for desperate measures," Ripa quipped, revealing her down-to-earth approach to beauty.

The Microneedling Craze

Microneedling, a cosmetic procedure involving tiny needle pricks to the skin, is touted for its ability to reduce scarring and treat fine lines and wrinkles. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the procedure can reach deeper skin layers when using certain regulated devices, helping with facial acne scars, neck wrinkles, and even abdominal surgical scars.

While some microneedling products only graze the skin's surface, others penetrate deeper to target living cells, nerves, and blood vessels. It's a popular choice for those seeking rejuvenation, but as Ripa's experience shows, results can vary.

Ripa's Relationship with Botox

Though microneedling might not have delivered the youthful lift Ripa hoped for, she's no stranger to cosmetic enhancements. She's long praised Botox for its transformative effects. Back in 2013, she talked about using it to curb excessive sweating, and in 2014, she noted that Botox "cut my getting ready time in half."

However, it's not always been smooth sailing. In 2016, Ripa shared a tale of "bad Botox" that left her with a six-month period of a frozen smile. Since then, she's opted for a minimalist approach, saying she only uses Botox "two to three times a year." Most recently, her dentist even suggested Botox to help with tooth grinding.

Despite the ups and downs, Ripa's candidness about her beauty routines continues to endear her to fans, proving that even celebrities grapple with the quest for eternal youth.
