Kelly Osbourne's Bold Stand Against Body Shaming

March 1, 2026, 5:56 p.m. ET – Kelly Osbourne isn't holding back when it comes to defending herself against cruel comments. The singer and TV personality, aged 41, took to Instagram to address the chatter about her recent weight loss after she appeared at the BRIT Awards on February 28.

Osbourne, who has been navigating the challenging waters of grief since her father, Ozzy Osbourne, passed away last year, shared a heartfelt message. "There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something," she wrote in an Instagram story. "Kicking me while I'm down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most."

"None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character," she continued. "I'm currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won't sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way!"

The Weight of Grief

Kelly has been candid about her struggles since Ozzy Osbourne's death in July 2025, at the age of 76. At the Grammys in February, she opened up about her intense grief, admitting, "It's the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life," and acknowledging that she is "not doing so great."

In December, she addressed similar harsh comments on Instagram, saying, "To the people who keep thinking they're being funny and mean by writing comments like 'Are you ill,' or 'Get off Ozempic, you don't look right.' My dad just died, and I'm doing the best that I can, and the only thing I have to live for right now is my family."

Honoring Ozzy's Legacy

The BRIT Awards held a poignant moment for Kelly, as her late father, Ozzy Osbourne, was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Kelly joined her mother, Sharon Osbourne, on stage to accept the award. Sharon expressed her gratitude, saying she was "honored" to accept on her husband's behalf, while Kelly added, "Thank you for loving my father as much as we do."

Kelly's resilience shines through her public battles, reminding everyone of the importance of compassion and understanding during times of personal struggle.
