The Epstein files have stirred up quite the storm, dragging a slew of celebrity names into the public eye. Among them is The View's Joy Behar, who recently took to the airwaves to clear her name. Behar candidly stated, "I'm not guilty," during a taping of the popular morning talk show.
While some high-profile individuals have been linked to Jeffrey Epstein through flight logs and court documents, it's crucial to note that such associations do not inherently imply criminal activity. Behar firmly asserts that she's not part of any wrongdoing.
"So you say Whoopi [Goldberg’s] on the list and so am I, I think. We’re on the list because we were at a party or a wedding or something that somebody [else] might’ve been [at]. That’s what I found out," Behar explained.
On Thursday's episode of The View, Behar addressed the "crazy names" on the list, suggesting that their inclusion might be a tactic to "muddy the waters" amidst the more incriminating evidence. She clarified that her name appeared due to her presence at an event, possibly the wedding of Donald Trump and Marla Maples in 1993.
Behar admitted she had no knowledge of Epstein's attendance at the event but emphasized, "That means that I’m not guilty, obviously, but these other ones, how are you going to decide who’s guilty and who’s not? It’s very tricky." Her co-host, Sunny Hostin, a former federal prosecutor, concurred, noting that the list doesn't automatically implicate everyone listed.
Besides Behar, fellow co-host Whoopi Goldberg also found herself needing to clarify her name's appearance in the documents. Goldberg's mention was linked to an email thread about John Lennon's charity event, requiring private flight arrangements.
"I wasn’t his girlfriend. I wasn’t his friend. I’m speaking about me because I’m getting dragged. People actually believe that I was with him. Honey, come on. Every man I’ve been with, you’ve known about him because either the Enquirer wrote about it. People wrote about this stuff," Goldberg passionately explained.
As the dust continues to settle around the Epstein files, the conversation remains heated, with new developments like Ex-Prince Andrew's custody over misconduct suspicions keeping the topic in the headlines.
