Johnny Depp's furry friend is causing quite the stir in the UK! The Hollywood star's bullmastiff, Bourbon, reportedly got loose and fatally attacked two sheep belonging to a neighbor, farmer Joe Ginger. The incident, which occurred while Depp was away and Bourbon was under a staff member's care, has left the rural East Sussex community buzzing.
Farmer Ginger didn't mince words when talking to The Sun, saying, "I take my work and my sheep very seriously; it is my business." The loss of his sheep has understandably left him furious, and he's calling for measures to ensure it doesn't happen again. "This is a serious matter," he emphasized, highlighting the need for responsible pet ownership.
“This is not the type of thing that he wanted to happen in his backyard.”
A source close to Depp revealed that the actor was "really upset" by the incident, as it's not the kind of drama he anticipated when he moved to the tranquil mansion in East Sussex. Depp's love for the peaceful area is well-known, and he's reportedly taken steps to prevent any future mishaps, including hiring a trainer for Bourbon.
This isn't the first time Depp's dogs have made headlines. Back in 2015, he and his then-wife, Amber Heard, found themselves in hot water in Australia for allegedly smuggling their Yorkshire Terriers, Boo and Pistol, into the country without observing quarantine rules. The incident led to a public warning from Australian authorities.
In the wake of the sheep tragedy, a nearby farmer suggested Depp compensate for the sheep, valued at around $243 each. While it's unconfirmed if Depp has paid, it's likely the star has taken steps to resolve the situation amicably.
May the sheep rest in peace.
