It seems the ever-charming Jessica Biel has a message for parents everywhere – think twice before jumping on the latest parenting bandwagon that might be leaving your little ones spooked. In a candid chat with UsWeekly, Biel opened up about the "Jessica" toddler tantrum trend. This quirky tactic involves parents repeatedly yelling the name "Jessica" to throw their tantrum-throwing toddlers off balance.
In her own words, Biel expressed mixed feelings about the trend. “Guys, I am not sure how I feel about this, like, ‘Jessica’ trend with moms and toddlers and now dogs, apparently, that it’s working for – which is kind of amazing, I’m going to try it on my dogs. Because I feel like half of these kids in these videos look petrified,” she said.
“I really love that I can come into your household with my name that I share with so many other incredible Jessicas around the world, I’m sure, and help you with your kids’ tantrum.”
While she finds it amusing that her name is helping parents, Biel also notes the concern for the children’s reactions, adding, “But I sorta feel like these kids are terrified. They look terrified and hopeful that Jessica is not going to show up.”
For those less familiar with her personal side, Biel has been happily married to pop sensation Justin Timberlake since 2012. The couple, who first crossed paths in early 2007, are proud parents to two sons: Silas, born in 2015, and Phineas, born in 2020. Their family life, however, remains relatively private, with Biel admitting she’s not too active on social media.
In a previous interview with SheKnows, Biel shared her unawareness of the "boy mom" label controversy on TikTok, humorously confessing, “Has it gotten controversial? I live under a rock.” But when it comes to her boys, she embraces her role with gusto, acknowledging the unique dynamics of raising sons.
