Jennifer Lopez, our beloved multi-talented diva, didn't hold back during her chat with Brett Goldstein on his podcast, "Films to Be Buried With," aired on June 10. Lopez, who starred alongside Goldstein in Netflix's romantic comedy, "Office Romance," felt right at home on his show, and boy, did she spill some tea!
Opening up about her favorite films, J.Lo confessed that the 1993 crime thriller "True Romance" has a special place in her heart – and not just for its gripping plot. She candidly admitted, "I would have had sex with any one of" the film's stars, praising the powerhouse performances of Christian Slater, Val Kilmer, Patricia Arquette, and Gary Oldman. "They were so incredibly good," she gushed, adding, "There are all these very seedy characters in the movie."
“You have Christian Slater, who works in this record store and has hallucinations of Elvis—who's played by Val Kilmer,” the "On the Floor" singer explained.
Lopez described Patricia Arquette's character as "the hooker with the heart of gold," and even after a brutal scene, "she's still sexy," Lopez mused, "You still want to kind of kiss her on the lips. You know what I mean? It's crazy, that movie."
The film also features James Gandolfini, Brad Pitt, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, and Samuel L. Jackson – a veritable who's who of Hollywood heavyweights, with Quentin Tarantino's writing and Tony Scott's direction rounding it out. J.Lo's confession didn't stop there, though, as she doubled down on her crush, adding, "That is the truth. Which says a lot about me, but maybe, like, the dark side of me."
Beyond "True Romance," Lopez shared other films that left an indelible mark on her life, including classics like "West Side Story," "Flashdance," and "The Notebook." She revealed a poignant moment while watching "I'm Still Here" in 2024, as she was grappling with her divorce from Ben Affleck.
"My dad was sitting there and something happened in my head and I just started crying," she recalled. "My whole family knew I was going through a hard time." Her father's comforting words during that emotional moment, "I love you. I always loved you," stayed with her, healing a part of her that needed it most.
Through her candid revelations, it's clear that Jennifer Lopez isn't just a powerhouse entertainer but someone who's deeply connected to the stories and characters that have shaped her journey.
