Jennifer Lawrence's Absence from the 2026 Actor Awards

Jennifer Lawrence is notably absent from this year's Actor Awards, a ceremony she hasn't attended since 2014. The reason? She's busy filming "What Happens at Night" with the iconic Leonardo DiCaprio in Europe. This exciting project, directed by Martin Scorsese, has kept both stars away from the Los Angeles event tonight. While DiCaprio is up for two nominations for "One Battle After Another," Lawrence is not in the running for any awards this year.

Lawrence's Upcoming Projects

Although Lawrence isn't nominated this time around, she's got plenty to look forward to. Her upcoming films "What Happens at Night" and "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping" are poised to make waves, with the latter set for release on November 20, 2026. It's only a matter of time before these projects bring her back into the awards spotlight.

Playful Banter with Emma Stone

When the nominations were announced back in January, Jennifer was in a group chat with her friend Emma Stone, who snagged a nomination for "Bugonia." During a 92NY interview with Josh Horowitz, Lawrence shared the playful exchange:

“We’re in a group chat and she got nominated for a SAG today, and I did not,” Lawrence began. “I wrote ‘WHAT!’ and all her friends were like, ‘Congratulations, Emma,’ and I just did a sad face.”

The actress, who had received a Golden Globe nod for "Die My Love," took the news in stride, humorously adding, "Every time she tries to talk today, I’m like, ‘Why are you not saying sorry,’” she continued jokingly. “She’s been beating me for decades, but it’s an honor.”
