Jay-Z: The Proud Father Behind the Music

Jay-Z, a music mogul and proud father of three, opens up about life with his superstar family. With Blue Ivy, 13, and twins Rumi and Sir Carter, 8, he’s got his hands full – but he wouldn’t have it any other way. Recently, he reflected on a moment that gave him "goosebumps" – watching Blue Ivy overcome her nerves to perform confidently on stage during Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour.

“I know her, so I know how nervous she was. I know how frightened she was. What makes me super proud and, like, I still get goosebumps [is] just seeing her walk on stage – just because Blue's been born into this world that she didn't ask [for]. She's been born into a life she didn't ask for,” Jay-Z shared during an interview.

Growing up in the public eye hasn’t been easy for Blue Ivy. Jay-Z acknowledges the scrutiny his daughter faces, from her hair to her every move. Yet, he’s proud of how she’s learned to find her own power and validation from within.

Rumi and Sir: Growing Up in the Spotlight

But it’s not just Blue Ivy who’s taking the stage. Rumi is following in her sister’s footsteps, joining Beyoncé on tour for the heartfelt song "Protector." In a fan video, Rumi was seen proudly throwing up Jay-Z’s iconic Roc Nation hand symbol, a moment that had her dad clapping and cheering from the sidelines.

Jay-Z also shares the inspiration behind his twins’ names, revealing on his podcast Rap Radar that Rumi is named after their favorite poet, while Sir’s name reflects his confident demeanor from day one.

Family Bonding at the Super Bowl

Apart from concerts, the family enjoys bonding at major events. Jay-Z, Blue, and Rumi have been spotted enjoying the 2024 and 2025 Super Bowls together. The rapper is often seen snapping pictures of his daughters, capturing precious moments and cheering them on.

Jay-Z’s commitment to being a constant presence in his children’s lives stems from his own experiences growing up without a father. He’s determined to be there for every milestone, ensuring his children feel loved and supported.

In his own words to GQ, he observed, "Being there – that's more important. I mean, we see that. We see that with all these rich socialites. They're crying out for attention; they're hurting for love. I'm not being judgmental – I'm just making an observation. They're crying out for the love that maybe they didn't get at home, and they got everything."
