Ruth Codd: A Star on the Rise

We were over the moon to see the Irish represented in Celebrity Traitors, and leading the charge was none other than the talented Ruth Codd. This Wexford native has skyrocketed into the limelight over the past few years, and we can't get enough of her journey.

Ruth, who celebrated her 29th birthday this past June, first caught our attention just two years ago with a breakout role in a popular Netflix series. Her story is one of resilience and determination, having faced significant challenges early in life. At just 15, she suffered a serious foot injury playing football, leading to the amputation of her right leg below the knee eight years later. But Ruth's spirit proved unbreakable.

“There was no slowing her down,” a fan remarked, capturing the essence of Ruth's unstoppable spirit.

Her journey didn't stop there. In December 2025, she underwent a second amputation, yet she continued to conquer the entertainment world with grace and talent.

From TikTok Sensation to Netflix Star

Before the pandemic turned the world upside down, Ruth was a professional make-up artist and barber. Like many, she found herself seeking new opportunities during lockdown and turned to TikTok, where her charisma and humor quickly won over audiences. Amassing over 650,000 followers and 20.5 million likes, Ruth's star power was undeniable.

Her TikTok fame caught the eye of the casting team for Netflix's mystery thriller series, The Midnight Club. Despite having no previous acting experience, Ruth's performance was so compelling that it earned her a spot in Mike Flanagan's next project, The Fall of the House of Usher.

A Love for the Spooky

In 2023, Ruth showed her love for the horror genre, guest-starring as Cassandra in Creepshow. She also took on a recurring role in the Irish comedy-drama, The Dry, and made her big-screen debut as Phlegma in the action fantasy film How to Train Your Dragon, released in June 2025.

Reality TV and Beyond

Ruth's charm isn't limited to scripted roles. In January 2024, she stepped into the reality TV spotlight on Celeb Cooking School, where she impressed fans and judges alike, finishing third.

Her appearance on the first-ever series of Celebrity Traitors further solidified her status as a multifaceted talent, representing Ireland with pride and passion.

Ruth Codd's journey is nothing short of inspiring, and we can't wait to see where her talents will take her next.
