Hold onto your hats, folks! It's almost time for another star-studded adventure as new celebrities gear up to brave the wilds in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! But this year, the show is taking a bold new direction. While fans are used to watching the drama unfold live from South Africa, this time the entire season has been pre-recorded! Comedian and co-host Julia Morris shared her excitement with Yahoo Lifestyle, saying she can't wait to watch the show from the comfort of her couch.
“Honestly, I thought it was better [filming it this way],” Julia confessed. “The live show can be quite a high-level cluster of full-brain explosion and all of a sudden it's over.”
Julia believes that having a bit more time allowed the team to polish their comedy and engage more creatively with the material.
With the season already in the can, viewers won't get to vote on daily eliminations. So, who decides who stays and who goes? Julia revealed that the celebrities themselves will choose each other, adding a whole new layer of intrigue to the show. "What is going to happen is that the celebrities will choose each other, which creates a really interesting dynamic," she explained.
And yes, the grand finale is also pre-recorded. Multiple endings were filmed, and the winner will be revealed based on who the audience votes for as their favorite. "There's a certain vulnerability in that as most performers will still have whispers of self-doubt," Julia commented.
The buzz is building around who will brave the jungle this year. The only confirmed contestant so far is Luke Bateman, a farmer, former NRL player, and now a book influencer. Luke is excited to represent his charity, Farm Angels, and is looking forward to the challenges ahead. "I'm sure there'll be some delectable food items and some fear-instilling trials. I can't wait. I'll see you all in the jungle," he said.
Channel 10 has teased a lineup that includes a Logie-winning actor, a '90s pop star, and even a Hollywood sitcom star. With such a diverse mix, this season promises to be packed with surprises.
I'm A Celebrity kicks off on Channel 10, Sunday, January 18 at 7pm AEDT. Don't miss out on the action – it's going to be a wild ride!
