Jennifer Garner recently opened up about a heartwarming behind-the-scenes moment while filming "Dallas Buyers Club." After a hiatus from acting to welcome her son, Samuel, with Ben Affleck, Garner returned to the set with a new set of challenges. The film had a tight 21-day shooting schedule, and Garner found herself juggling the demands of being a new mom. "I hadn’t worked in a long time, and I went back to work for that movie," Garner, 53, shared during a candid interview for Hits Radio’s My Life in Movies YouTube series in January.

The Unexpected Crisis

Just as the cameras started rolling, Garner faced an unexpected crisis. "I was nursing, and we were shooting. It was the first day, and around bedtime for my baby, all of a sudden, my boobs exploded," she recalled with a mix of humor and exasperation. Used to a more flexible filming schedule, Garner found herself in a bind. "I had pumped through a lot of movies, and always there’s like, a 15-minute break," she explained. "I couldn’t on that film."

“I start crying, and I can’t stop crying. I’m not supposed to be crying. And Matthew said, ‘What is going on with you?’” Garner remembered.

McConaughey's Noble Gesture

When Garner confided in her co-star Matthew McConaughey about her predicament, his response was swift and supportive. "He said, ‘Guys, I need a minute.’ And he said, ‘Go and just do what you need to do,’" Garner recounted. Throughout the filming, McConaughey consistently stepped in to give Garner the necessary breaks. "He constantly took the heat for me and said, ‘Just go. Just go.’ And let me not have to wean my baby, which, what a gift, right? What a gentleman." Garner said, clearly moved by his kindness.

His actions not only allowed her to continue breastfeeding but also eased her transition back into the film industry.
