George Clooney is lifting the veil on his marriage to the brilliant Amal Clooney, offering a glimpse into how aging has sweetened their relationship. Known for keeping details about his personal life under wraps, George is now opening up about how growing older has influenced both his work and his personal life.
In a candid chat with CBS News, Clooney revealed he's become less concerned with his on-screen appearance. "I don’t care about that. I’m too old," Clooney chuckled. He went on to use his marriage as an example of how his priorities have shifted. "Well, when you're younger, you want to be right about everything, you know, don't paint that color wall," he shared.
“You know, Amal and I, famously, everybody gets ticked off when I say it, but we've never had a fight. We've never had an argument. And some of it is because I'm at this point in life, where if she wants to paint a wall red, I don't care.”
Clooney even joked in another interview that he and Amal are still searching for something to argue about, but they just can't seem to find it.
Clooney opened up about how maturity has led him to be more discerning with his energy. "You get to a point in life where you just go, ‘Well, why would that be a discussion or an argument?’ We have a really amazing relationship because we're also so supportive of each other. But when I was younger, I don't know that that would have been the case," he admitted.
"I think I would have found things to, you know, stick my chest out about that I can now go, it doesn't matter. I don't care," Clooney added, reflecting on how marriage and life have evolved for him.
George also shared a rare peek into parenting his twins, Ella and Alexander. With a touch of humor, he mentioned, “You'll have to ask our kids in about 10 years when they're in therapy.” As for their parenting style, Clooney says they're present and actively involved, even enjoying the school run.
“We're present, which is fine. I get to drive them to school most of the time, which is fun. Amal is so present and so there and such a great mom. We have very happy kids. We'll see. I mean, everybody screws it up somewhere along the way. So we're just trying to do the least of it as we can," Clooney said, showing the same candid charm that fans love.
