Fire Wayne's Triumphant Ride

Fire Wayne, the celebrated Soca singer, took center stage at the Bermuda Motocross Association’s Celebrity Race on Sunday, leaving the competition in the dust. With the roar of engines and cheers from the crowd, Wayne blitzed his celebrity rivals to claim the top spot in both races. His impressive display of skill and speed thrilled fans gathered at Southside, St David’s.

“I’m definitely going to write a song, ‘The Champion Scrambler Rider’,” Wayne announced, promising to immortalize his victory in music.

Wayne's performance was nothing short of spectacular. Starting strong, he led the opening race from start to finish, proving his doubters wrong. "Nobody wanted to vote for me on the online poll, so I said ‘all right, I guess I have to show them’, and I showed them," he declared with pride.

Rising to the Challenge

The second race tested Wayne’s mettle further, as he fought his way from behind to secure another win. "It feels good to have won," he shared, reflecting on his first-time experience on the track. His key to success? "Staying in front and jumping what you feel like you can jump," he explained, adding a touch of humor about fearing he might break the bike.

His hat-trick hopes were dashed when the third race got canceled due to scheduling conflicts among competitors. Wayne jested, "They were scared and they didn’t want to stay."

Fierce Competition and Friendly Rivalries

The race attracted a vibrant mix of celebrity contestants, including Wayne Caines, who finished second, and dancehall star General Kaution, who claimed third. General Kaution, reflecting on his fearless approach, said, "I was jumping; stay wide or don’t ride, that’s what they told me."

Not everything went as planned for sports minister Owen Darrell, who had to settle for seventh. Despite his pre-race confidence, he took solace in outpacing Mr Fotogenik in their personal rivalry. "Most people would’ve heard of Mr Fotogenik and his personal challenge with me," Darrell noted, relishing his minor victory.

Memorable Moments and Mishaps

The event was not without its share of drama. Professional boxer Nikki Bascome had a rough ride, coming off his bike in both races but still managing to finish fifth. "It was a rough one but I done my best and had fun," he commented.

In a surprising twist, influencer Karlandra and Caines veered off the track during the first race. "We went the wrong way," Karlandra confessed, attributing the error to her lack of practice.

Comedian Nadanja Bailey was thrilled to finish both races unscathed, achieving his personal goal and finishing sixth. "I finished my races, didn’t deck out and didn’t come last," he said, satisfied with his performance.

The day was filled with laughter, rivalry, and triumphs, ensuring the Bermuda Motocross Association’s Celebrity Race will be remembered for years to come.
