Drew Barrymore, the beloved Daytime Emmy-winning host, took a delightful trip down memory lane with actress Amanda Peet on her talk show. The duo reminisced about a time they locked lips at one of Carrie Fisher's infamous house parties. It all started when Barrymore cheekily asked Peet if they had ever kissed, sparking a moment of nostalgia and laughter.
“I miss the eighties. By the way, speaking of, did we make out at Carrie Fisher's house?” Barrymore asked, to which Peet replied, “I… feel like that might have happened.”
Barrymore added a playful touch by leaning forward and saying, “It’s so nice to see you again.” Their conversation quickly turned into a delightful recounting of the good ol' days, with Barrymore mentioning that Matthew Perry might have been present during their memorable liplock.
Barrymore highlighted the wild and carefree essence of Carrie Fisher's parties, suggesting that such antics were just a typical part of the late Star Wars star's gatherings. "It was at Carrie Fisher’s house!" Barrymore exclaimed. "Life used to be so much more fun." Peet chimed in, wondering if their perception had changed simply due to getting older.
Barrymore agreed, reflecting on how becoming a parent had changed her. "There is that. I guess maybe you also grow out of that kind of behavior? Especially when you become a parent. That changed me entirely." Peet echoed her sentiments, admitting that while she might still be "messy and silly," she has indeed matured over time.
Drew Barrymore has fondly spoken of Fisher's parties in the past, describing them as a quintessential Los Angeles experience. On a 2016 episode of Watch What Happens Live, she reminisced, “I loved going to her house. It was like a hacienda type of beautiful home off of Coldwater Canyon, very Los Angeles.” She described the atmosphere as one filled with sunshine, creativity, and a sense of freedom.
Barrymore also recalled attending Fisher and Penny Marshall’s legendary joint birthday parties. She expressed pride in having survived those nights, saying, “I remember Garry Shandling being weird in the driveway. And I was like, 'I'm so glad I'm going home! I'm so glad I'm surviving these kind of nights.’”
