Deni Hines' Dramatic Jungle Exit

Deni Hines didn't hold back when she revealed the real reason behind her sudden departure from 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Australia.' On January 27, the 55-year-old singer stunned her campmates by announcing she was leaving due to a surprising health issue – she hadn't "been able to go to the toilet for six days."

Far from the typical drama of clashing personalities, Deni's exit was all about her health. In an exclusive chat with New Idea, she shared just how serious her condition had become after leaving the jungle, saying, "I was given two laxatives on the day that I eventually left camp, but I didn’t want to take them in camp because I didn’t want to spend hours on the long drop having a bad time."

“Had I been able to s***, I would still be in the jungle, and I probably would’ve won! I listen to my body, and I did everything I could to try and s*** so I wouldn’t have to leave.”

Health First: Why Deni Packed Her Bags

Deni explained she couldn't face using the "long drop" toilet, which she compared to a "garbage bin," and joked she'd rather dig a hole in the jungle if it weren't a national park. Her decision came down to listening to her body, as she emphasized, "I’m a regular person, I’m relatively healthy, I do yoga five days a week, and I listen to my body, and I just knew that my health wasn’t something I was willing to jeopardize."

Her candid remarks continued as she shared the fear of potential health risks, "You know, sometimes people don’t s*** for a month, and then their lower intestine explodes, and they’re flooded with toxins. That wasn’t going to be me. No way."

Support From Loved Ones

Deni's mother, Marcia Hines, and her husband, Daniel, were supportive of her decision to leave. "Mum was stoked that I was out of there because she knew s***ting in a bin wouldn’t be for me," Deni revealed. Her mother expressed relief, noting, "You’ve always been a tidy girl, this wasn’t for you. You’re a Virgo."

Despite the challenges, Deni insists her clashes with fellow contestant Cyrell Paule did not influence her decision to leave. "The fact is if I’d been able to s***, I would’ve still been there now," she stated firmly.

Looking Ahead

Though she faced difficulties in the jungle, Deni hasn't ruled out future reality TV appearances, but she has a clear request for her agent: "Next show you get me, can we make sure there’s a flushing toilet and real food please?"
