Dani Dyer-Bowen couldn't hold back her tears on the latest episode of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. As the show nears its thrilling finale, the remaining five contestants were treated to emotional video calls from their loved ones. For Dani, the call from her husband, West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen, and their adorable twin daughters, Summer and Star, was both a blessing and a challenge.
“This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my entire life,” she confessed, overwhelmed by the emotional and physical demands of the show.
Her husband, ever the supportive partner, urged her to push through, saying, “Go all the way, because you know you want it. You’ve got this far.”
But Dani wasn't the only one feeling the heat. Former Love Island star Gabby Allen had a touching conversation with her mother, while retired Olympic swimmer Emily Seebohm found comfort in words from her father. Meanwhile, former rugby star Ben Cohen, sharing a poignant moment with ex-teammate Steve Thompson, admitted, “It’s been soul-searching. Tough, really tough. I’ve had some really horrible mental battles.”
In contrast, Australian Olympian Mack Horton chose to remain focused by declining a call from his wife, explaining that isolation helps him maintain his concentration.
The episode wasn't just about heartwarming calls – the contestants faced grueling challenges that tested their limits. The first task had them running in scorching 40C heat, carrying hefty 15kg Bergen backpacks. As if that wasn't enough, they had to pick up heavy objects like jerry cans, chains, and tyres along the way. Gabby Allen struggled under the weight, collapsing from the burden, while Dani admitted to instructors, "My body can’t take any more. I’m in so much pain."
Later, the recruits were split into two groups and sent on a four-mile race through hostile terrain, gathering clues from informants to reach a safe house. The episode ended with a cliffhanger as both teams were captured and taken hostage, leaving viewers eagerly awaiting the next episode.
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins returns to Channel 4 on Monday at 9pm, promising more drama and intense challenges.
