Golden Globes Drama: The Unexpected Snub

Earlier this month, Sarah Jessica Parker graced the Golden Globes' inaugural pre-show event, Golden Eve, where she was recognized with the prestigious Carol Burnett Award for her incredible contributions to television. She was surrounded by family and close friends, including her Sex and the City co-stars Kristin Davis, David Eigenberg, and Evan Handler. However, one notable absence was Chris Noth, the man who played her on-screen love interest, Mr. Big.

Noth, who made a brief appearance in the reboot And Just Like That…, had been abruptly cut from the franchise following serious allegations. Two women accused him of sexual assault, causing a media frenzy and sparking a response from Parker and her co-stars.

The Allegations and Their Aftermath

In response to the allegations, Parker, Davis, and Cynthia Nixon issued a joint statement expressing their support for the women who came forward. "We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it," they stated.

Noth, however, has denied the allegations, maintaining his innocence. Days after the Golden Eve event, he responded to an Instagram comment with what he later clarified was sarcasm, hinting at his strained relationship with Parker.

“We’re not friends—I think that’s pretty obvious,” Noth admitted in a podcast teaser. “The statement that they put out—which was nothing more than brand management, really—I don’t know, it was sad, it was disappointing, it was surprising.”

Noth Speaks Out: A Candid Conversation

In a gripping preview for his upcoming appearance on the Really Famous With Kara Mayer Robinson podcast, Noth openly discussed his falling out with Parker. He expressed his hurt over the public statement made by Parker and others, describing it as "hurtful" and something that "affected everything."

“You’ve known me for many years, and we’ve worked [together] for many years," he lamented. "Before you make that statement, you know me, you’ve known me all these years, give me a call so I can give you the real scoop about this. And that didn’t happen, and that was too bad.”

Noth concluded with a poignant reflection: "What’s gained is good. You know where people stand and you know who your real friends are and who they’re not. That’s important to know. I just know if it had been on the other hand, I wouldn’t have done that.”

The allegations against Noth emerged in 2021, with two women coming forward to The Hollywood Reporter during his press tour for And Just Like That... They claimed incidents occurred nearly a decade apart in Los Angeles in 2004 and New York in 2015. Since the exposé, a third woman has also accused Noth, while Zoe Lister-Jones and Lisa Gentile have shared allegations of inappropriate behavior.
