Brandon Tyler Moore is gearing up to be a household name on your TV screens. Once a walk-on for Alabama's football team, Moore's acting career is skyrocketing after a memorable role in a 'Law & Order' episode nearly three years ago. Now, he's preparing to dazzle audiences with multiple roles in upcoming series. This October, catch him in 'Boots,' a gripping new Netflix series that dives into the intense world of Marine enlistment and boot camp. Moore takes on the role of Cody Bowman across all eight episodes, which are set to premiere on October 9. He'll also grace the screen in an episode of FX's 'English Teacher,' debuting on Hulu on September 24.
At 31, Moore isn't just stopping at acting. He's delving into the production side of the industry, eager to learn and grow. "I'm producing now, too. I just did some stunt rigging and special effects on a project here in Birmingham," Moore shared. "I did a PA job just to learn the ins and outs of production on that side. It puts you in that place where you think 'I'm not too big for any job.' I got to see on the ground level what it really feels like on the other side."
Moore's versatility doesn't end there. He has also worked as a stuntman, contributing to 'The Senior,' a film releasing on September 19. The movie tells the true story of Mike Flynt, the oldest college football player. Moore's mentor, Michael Chiklis, plays Flynt, while Moore served as Chiklis' stunt double, drawing on his own experience as a walk-on from 2012 to 2017.
'Boots' marks Moore's most significant role yet, as he appears in every episode. To authentically portray the demanding life of a Marine, he immersed himself in the part, consulting with real Marines and undergoing a physical transformation. "We had a scene at an obstacle course where you climb a rope at the end," Moore recounted. "We ran that obstacle course for 12 hours. The Marines came up to us afterward and said 'Kudos, guys, we run this a few times a day and you did it all day in the sun.'"
Moore's journey from the Alabama gridiron to Hollywood is inspiring. He joins the ranks of successful actors from Alabama's 2012 national championship team, alongside Caleb Castille, who stars in 'NCIS: Los Angeles.' Although the two haven't worked together yet, Moore is hopeful. "Hopefully we can soon," he added.
With his dedication and diverse talents, Brandon Tyler Moore is undoubtedly a star on the rise.
