Blake Lively's Legal Drama Intensifies

Blake Lively has hit a speed bump in her legal saga against It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, but she’s not backing down without a fight. Recently, a judge dismissed 10 of her 13 claims against Baldoni, but Lively has a secret weapon – her superstar husband, Ryan Reynolds. As the trial date of May 18 looms, Lively has added Reynolds to her already extensive witness list.

Court documents filed over the weekend reveal that the Deadpool star is expected to testify about production and promotion issues, as well as the alleged retaliation and damages that have been central to the case. "Reynolds has been deeply committed to supporting his wife as she gears up to face Baldoni in court," a source shared.

The Witness List Grows

Lively’s witness list is a star-studded affair, featuring not only her husband but also her sister, Robyn Lively, and It Ends With Us co-stars Jenny Slate and Isabela Ferrer. The list doesn’t stop there; it includes Baldoni's former podcast co-host Liz Plank, his ex-publicist Stephanie Jones, and PR crisis manager Melissa Nathan, among others.

Interestingly, Colleen Hoover, the author of the book the movie is based on, has also been named as a potential witness. Her testimony is expected to be delivered via deposition rather than in person. Despite initially supporting Lively when the allegations surfaced, Hoover has since adopted a more neutral stance, claiming the lawsuit has overshadowed her work.

Baldoni Strikes Back

Justin Baldoni, on the other hand, is not taking these developments lightly. He has filed motions to block certain testimonies, labeling them as irrelevant or inadmissible. Baldoni's legal team argues that Hoover's testimony should be struck from the record since she was never present on set. Similarly, they claim that Slate's concerns were resolved during the film shoot and thus should not be included.

As the courtroom drama unfolds, both parties have prepared a list of questions for potential jurors, including whether they are familiar with any of the celebrities involved. With high-profile names like Taylor Swift and Hasan Minhaj also mentioned, this trial is shaping up to be Hollywood's next big legal spectacle.

The legal battle kicked off in December 2024, when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and a smear campaign designed to tarnish her reputation – allegations Baldoni has firmly denied. While the judge has thrown out most of Lively's claims, the central issues of retaliation and breach of contract remain on the docket.
