Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard is singing the praises of reality TV after her stint on 'I'm A Celebrity' worked wonders for her self-esteem. The beloved actress, known for her role as Liz McDonald, is set to venture back into the wild for the all-new all-star series of 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! South Africa'. With her first appearance in 2020 during the pandemic, Callard says the experience gave her a much-needed confidence boost.
“I do tend to suffer from low self-esteem and without sounding big-headed, because people kept telling me they loved me and how down to earth I was, it gave me confidence and it was lovely to be with such a wonderful group of people.”
Callard was "gobsmacked" to be invited back for another round of jungle adventures. "I was really flattered when I got the call," she shared. This time, it's not the chilly Welsh castle, but the vibrant South African jungle awaiting her. She anticipates a very different experience this time around, and she's all in for the challenge.
Joining Callard in this thrilling adventure are a host of big names, including TV personality Gemma Collins, Olympian Sir Mo Farah, and former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt. Also in the mix are champion boxer David Haye and Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts, who is equally thrilled to be part of the show once again. "This show changed my life," Roberts exclaimed, reflecting on her past experience.
The new series promises fresh twists, including a public vote to crown the "ultimate legend 2026". The grand final will broadcast live from London, allowing fans to have their say. Hosted by the dynamic duo Ant and Dec, this season is packed with excitement and surprises.
Don't miss the action as 'I'm A Celebrity... South Africa' kicks off on Monday, April 6, at 9pm on ITV1, airing every weeknight.
