Ant Anstead is taking a step back to focus on his health after an unexpected sports injury left him with a detached pectoral muscle and other serious injuries. The Celebrity IOU: Joyride star, 46, took to Instagram on November 1 to update his fans on his recovery journey after what he described as a "freak" soccer mishap.
"October can officially go away! Three close and beloved friends received terrible diagnoses! It kick-started me to look closer at my health, and I went down many rabbit holes…. Diet, peptides, body scans, vitamins etc etc," Anstead shared with his followers. "Then WHAMMO!! A freak footy accident and I detached my pectoral muscle and tore my rotator cuff and labrum!"
Following surgery, Anstead admitted he's now forced to rest – a challenge for someone who doesn't do well with downtime. He sees this as a sign to dive deeper into his health journey, emphasizing the importance of being "healthier and kinder" to his body. He welcomed advice from anyone willing to share.
His friends and fans have been quick to offer support. Racing driver Chris Buncombe sent his condolences, saying, "Ah mate so sorry to hear this. Get well." Meanwhile, singer Imelda May humorously suggested, "Rest up... But I mean you have to work on those tights mate! Fishnets would up your game. 🔥 Get well soon X."
Despite the setback, Anstead's family life seems to be on a good note. He recently reunited with ex-wife Christina Haack at their son Hudson's school event. Anstead shared a proud moment on Instagram, noting that "Hudzo is thriving" and praising Haack for their co-parenting efforts.
Anstead's personal life has seen its share of changes, including a relationship with actress Renée Zellweger since 2021. Earlier this year, rumors about his living arrangements stirred the pot, but his representative clarified that he remains in a "cherished relationship" with Zellweger.
Through it all, Anstead's focus remains on healing and embracing the next chapter with resilience and gratitude.
