Anne Hathaway is proving that even Hollywood stars aren't immune to the everyday struggles of balancing work and family. The Academy Award and Golden Globe winner, who is set to reprise her iconic role as Andy Sachs in "The Devil Wears Prada 2," recently shared some heartfelt reflections during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar.
The April 2026 cover star opened up about her experiences, saying, "Before, there was this focus that was really uncompromising and uninterrupted…And I just can’t tell you anymore what life is like without kids, but kids interrupt you all the time." Hathaway's candid comments are striking a chord with moms everywhere, as she admits the reality of trying to find balance.
"My friends and I talk about it a lot, and we actually feel very defeated by the concept of balance," Hathaway confessed, capturing a sentiment familiar to many parents.
While Anne's career may be more glamorous than most moms’ day-to-day routines, she still faces the same challenges in juggling her roles as a mother and an actress. With two young sons, 10-year-old Jonathon and 6-year-old Jack, whom she shares with her husband, actor/producer Adam Schulman, Hathaway is in the thick of parenting.
Despite her on-screen roles, Hathaway's real-life struggles with balance are relatable. "If the weight shifts in one direction, you then have to bounce it up on the other side, and we find that it winds us up as opposed to making us steady," she told Harper’s Bazaar.
Outside of the spotlight, Hathaway's idea of fun might surprise you. She cherishes spending quality time with her family and friends, engaging in activities that many parents would recognize. As she told Vogue last July, she enjoys "Uno games, baking when there’s time, teaching the kids to dribble a basketball in the apartment without upsetting the neighbors."
For Hathaway, these everyday activities offer a welcome break from her busy schedule. As much as she may live a life of glitz and glamour, her down-to-earth approach to family time is what truly resonates with her audience.
