Angus Cloud's mother, Lisa Cloud, is not backing down in her pursuit of justice for her late son. On November 5, she filed a lawsuit against a Sacramento law firm, accusing them of filing "false and frivolous claims" against the estate of her beloved son, Conor Angus Cloud Hickey, who passed away tragically in July 2023.
Lisa's lawsuit targets attorneys Michael Hackard, Brian Geremia, and their firm, Hackard Law. She claims they engaged in a predatory legal campaign to extract settlements, causing her immense emotional distress and financial burdens. "This case is about accountability and fairness," Lisa told PEOPLE, emphasizing her commitment to protecting her son's legacy.
"No family should have to endure this kind of abuse of process after losing a loved one. I'm seeking resolution and dignity, truth and respect," she passionately stated.
The lawsuit paints a picture of deceit and exploitation, with Lisa accusing the defendants of fraud, elder abuse, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Central to the case is Jonathan Kim, who claimed to be Angus's personal assistant and demanded over $310,000 in unpaid wages – a claim Lisa vehemently disputes.
Lisa alleges that Kim's assertions were entirely fabricated, lacking any employment records or contractual evidence. She also noted that Kim was banned from Angus's circle following a public altercation, further discrediting his claims. The legal team's decision to represent Kim, knowing his lack of evidence, only adds fuel to the fire.
Angus Cloud, best known for his role as the endearing Fezco on 'Euphoria,' left a significant mark on audiences before his untimely death. His struggles with addiction were well-documented, with creator Sam Levinson even orchestrating interventions to help the young star.
The lawsuit also accuses Kim's firm of breaching confidentiality by leaking a personal letter Lisa sent, followed by threatening messages that left her fearing for her safety. Lisa's determination to clear her son's name and protect his estate remains unwavering as she continues to fight this legal battle.
