The charismatic host of Watch What Happens Live got candid on the Call Her Daddy podcast, chatting with Alex Cooper about everything from being "kicked off" Grindr to what he's truly looking for in a partner.
"I wouldn't try to impress someone. They would want to be with me or not. I don't want to be with some, you know, slurpy twink who's trying to, you know, be impressed," joked Cohen.
Cohen, at 57, is no stranger to the digital dating playground. "I'm on every app," he shared with Cooper, listing Grindr, Scruff, Raya, Hinge, and Tinder as his go-to platforms. But not everything's smooth sailing – Cohen revealed he was booted from Grindr for "impersonating" himself, a baffling experience where users couldn't quite believe it was really him.
Cohen's dating app profiles are as varied as his tastes. On Raya, he uses a photo from the set of his show to verify his identity. And on Grindr, he employs a "chaos agent" picture that's black and white, a little blurry, and perfect for sparking conversation.
When it comes to his ideal partner, Cohen is all about the vibe. "I'm like the UN. It's all over the map," he explained, adding that he's drawn to strong, independent, smart individuals who have their own thing going. His adventures on Raya have mostly led him to people who know little about his TV fame, which he finds refreshingly genuine.
Cohen, who is a proud dad to son Ben and daughter Lucy, admits that dating has changed since becoming a parent. "I go on some dates," he said, acknowledging the shift. "I meet two kinds of people. People that I want to sleep with and people that I want to date."
Reflecting on his past relationships, Cohen confesses his longest lasted three years but insists he's content with his single status. "I like being single," he says, crediting his children with bringing profound joy to his life. And in a humorous throwback, he reminisced about the days when Craigslist was the go-to hookup spot, long before the era of Grindr.
