Alison Hammond Debunks Celebrity Traitors Rumors

Alison Hammond, the bubbly television presenter, has officially quashed the rumors that she’d be joining the cast of Celebrity Traitors. It turns out, her busy schedule with The Great British Bake Off has left no room for the hit BBC reality gameshow.

The buzz had initially started after whispers of discussions between Hammond and the show’s producers began circulating. However, during her appearance on ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show, Hammond cleared the air. "I can’t do it because I’m doing Bake Off," the 51-year-old clarified. "I think it’s the same time when I’m doing Bake Off, so that’s a definite no."

A Hit Show with a Celebrity Twist

Celebrity Traitors, hosted by Claudia Winkleman and set against the stunning backdrop of the Scottish Highlands, has become a sensation. It pits 22 contestants – mostly 'faithfuls' – against 'traitors' who stealthily eliminate players overnight, all for a tantalizing cash prize.

The celebrity version of the show, which featured big names like Sir Stephen Fry, Jonathan Ross, and Paloma Faith, captivated an impressive audience of 14.9 million in 2025. Despite not joining the lineup, Hammond expressed her fondness for the show. "I’m so sorry, I would love to do that," she admitted, emphasizing, "I wouldn’t want to be a traitor though, I’d want to be a faithful. I don’t want no stress."

Back to the Bake Off Tent

Instead of playing detective, Alison Hammond will be back in the tent for Channel 4’s beloved baking showdown, co-hosting with comedian Noel Fielding. This season promises a fresh twist as celebrated cookbook author Nigella Lawson steps in as a judge, replacing Dame Prue Leith.

Reflecting on the change, Hammond shared her bittersweet sentiments. "It’s kind of bittersweet. We love Prue," she remarked. "She’s incredible – she’s given nine years of her time, but we also want her to go and enjoy life as well." Dame Prue, who announced her departure in January, is stepping down to "work less and play more."

Eagerly anticipating the new season, Hammond is excited to meet her new co-judge. "I can’t wait – I’m actually meeting her next week. We’re going to have a coffee and a little chat. She’s really excited," she shared, as she gears up for another season of culinary delights.
