The nights are getting longer, and with Ant and Dec missing from the UK, it's time for the much-anticipated return of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Now in its 25th season on ITV, the show brings together 10 daring celebrities ready to face the trials of the Australian jungle, without their usual luxuries or outside contact.
Among this year's adventurous line-up is none other than rapper Aitch. But don't get him mixed up with Ian 'H' Watkins from Steps! Aitch is all set to dive into the jungle, eager to connect with fellow celebrities and share in their stories – all while tackling the infamous Bushtucker Trials.
So, who exactly is Aitch? At just 25, Aitch – whose real name is Harrison James Armstrong – has already made waves in the music industry. He burst onto the scene in 2018, and his debut studio album in 2022 hit number two on the UK Albums Chart. With 20 Top 10 singles under his belt, Aitch is a force to be reckoned with.
But there's more to Aitch than just his music. "I don’t have any phobias, but I am not looking forward to eating or drinking anything I don’t want to," he admits. Aitch is determined to show the world that he's not just a typical, unapproachable rapper. "I want people to understand I am not just a stereotypical obnoxious rapper who you can’t approach."
"On a personal Harrison level, this show is something I grew up watching in our house. It would almost be disrespectful to say ‘no’. Why would I not do it?"
Aitch is also on a mission to raise awareness for Down Syndrome, using this high-profile platform to make a difference. "On an Aitch level, I feel like I have got this calling to raise awareness for Down Syndrome and I feel that’s the perfect place," he shares.
Aitch is ready to bring his unique energy to the jungle, but he warns fellow campers about his snoring – even joking that he snores in a Northern accent! As for his dream jungle companion, Aitch has a surprising pick: "I wouldn’t say he is my hero, but someone who would make the jungle a million times easier – and don’t ask me why, as I don’t have that answer – is Snoop Dogg."
He has even canceled gigs to join the show, emphasizing the importance of stepping out of his comfort zone: "You can branch out and do other things. You don’t have to stick to the code (rap world), because you think that’s cool."
I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! returns on Sunday, November 16th on ITV1 and ITVX. Don't miss the chance to see Aitch and other celebrities face the wild jungle and its challenges! Add the show to your Radio Times watchlist for daily TV recommendations and more.
